Wes Llewellyn was born in Montgomery and as a child had a filmmaking epiphany about being involved with making movies when he saw "The Love Bug." Not knowing what that really meant, he pursued photography and an Art Degree at Troy University.
He attended Regent University and earned a Master's Degree in Filmmaking and while there, was the Director of Photography for the Student Academy award winning film, "Bird In a Cage." His senior project was a film called, "Fallen Angel" about former Hell's Angel turned pastor, Barry Mason. That film has been all over the world and with it's success, Wes decided to take Los Angeles by storm.
Ending up there, he began his career as a Chief Lighting Technician moving onto Director of Photography, Writer, Producer, Editor and Director.
He has numerous awards for his work: an astonishing Three Best Films awards from the 168 Hour Film Festival ("CrossWalk" 2003, "A Good Day" 2007, "Up in the Air" 2009) He and Amanda entered this highly competitive timed competition again in 2017 and won Best Screenplay, Scriptural Integration, Best Supporting Actress and Best Director for "Under Water." This film has gone to win other awards of Indie Spirit (Idyllwild) and Audience Favorite (Kingdomwood).
For the past 13 years, he has been directing and producing reenactments on the popular Christian talk show, “Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural" and has helped to grow their audience to over 7 million a week by his excellent dramatic and visual effects skills.
Wes has also been inducted in the Regent University Hall of Fame along with actor Tony Hale (Arrested Development) and screenwriter Cheryl McKay (The Ultimate Gift).
Wes' two full-length feature films, “The Moment After” and “The Moment After 2: The Awakening” have been in distribution with Sony Home DVD. His first featured has been sited by other successful faith-based filmmakers as their inspiration and in some cases, their launch into larger successes in the industry.
Wes has also self-educate himself in visual effects compositing. Being the visual artist that he is, he has excelled in this area rivaling nighttime television and features on dramatic impact and amazing visual effects. He is very detailed in capturing his elements in camera so that the effects are seamless.
Wes has been tapped to direct an indie Rom-Com, "The Farmer and the Belle" slated to shoot this year and release the next.
